Christopher Henry Reed

MILFORD - Christopher Henry Reed passed away at home on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. Christopher was born in Milford, son of the late Frank L., Jr., and Patricia Ann (Young) Reed. Chris was a lifelong resident of Milford and had many friends. He worked for the State of Delaware where he began his career with them shortly after graduating college. He had a strong passion for breeding and collecting butterflies. Chris was extremely artistic and greatly enjoyed the outdoors. In addition to his parents, Chris is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank L. Sr., and Marguerite Reed; and maternal grandparents, Henry Chester and Evelyn (Mitchell) Young. He is survived by a brother, Frank L. Reed, III and wife Tina, of Port Charlotte, Fla.; a sister, Carrie Sigmon and husband Ronnie, of Roanoke, Va.; and their children, Chris, Nick, Tori and Dalton; and a host of extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2016 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, with visitation after 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the SPCA Sussex County, 22918 DuPont Highway, Georgetown, DE 19947 or the National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association http://www.nwrawildlife.org/donations/
