DOVER - Christine A. Hoopengardner died Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Christine was born in Boston, Mass. and was the daughter of the late Gactano and Anna Laudato.
She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed bowling and bingo with her loving husband Charles "Chuck" Hoopengardner of 68 years. In recent years they looked forward to the annual bus trips to Foxwoods to play bingo and slots.
She was predeceased by her son, Joel A. Hoopengardner in 2011.
Christine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Debbie Weaver Hoopengardner of Harrington, Del.; two grandsons, John Hoopengardner, Jr. and Connor Weaver of Harrington; and three great-granddaughters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 12 Noon, Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021 at The Church of The Holy Cross, 631 S. State St. Dover. Visitation will be held prior to Mass from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at The Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover, DE 19901. Entombment will be private in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.
Family suggests donations in her memory to Delaware School for the Deaf, 630 E. Chestnut Hill Rd., Newark, DE 19713, ATTN Maria Catalina.
