GREENWOOD - Chris Lee Furroughs died March 31, 2013, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. Chris was born on June 26, 1980 in Seaford to his father the late Richard Furroughs Sr. and his mother Shirley Meredith Travers. He was self-employed as an HVAC technician. Chris was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge #534, and the APA Pool League, eight and nine ball. Chris loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He entered the car demolition derby at the Harrington Fair for many years. Chris had a good heart and would help anybody that he could. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dolly Meredith. He is survived by his mother and step-father, Shirley and John Travers of Greenwood; two daughters, Leiala Eagleson and Hailee Furroughs both of Greenwood; a brother, Richard Furroughs and his wife Norleen of Linkwood, Md; three step-brothers, John Travers Jr. of Greenwood, Matthew Travers and Patrick Travers both of Cambridge, Md.; grandfather, Thomas Meredith of Greenwood; three aunts, Penny Fowler of Felton, Carol Martin of Seaford, and Eleanor Calhoun of Milford; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 W. Market Street, Greenwood, DE 19950. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Wesley Church Cemetery in Burrsville, MD. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made for his daughters, reference Shirley Travers savings account at the Discover Bank in Greenwood.
