Battin, 84
Charlotte Battin unexpectedly passed away in Dover on January 6, 2021.
Charlotte was the oldest of two children of George and Gladys French, and sister to Ronald French all who preceded her in death. Charlotte was also preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Dale A. Battin; a daughter, Kathy Kaye; and grandson, Bjorn Osmundson. Charlotte accompanied Dale around the world as he served his country in the Air Force. She was born at home in Mount Upton, New York. Charlotte loved nature, travel, spending time with her family, crotcheting, reading, and dancing. She also enjoyed any form of crafting, especially creating shell wreaths. Charlotte had an active social life and was very present at many functions of the Dover Modern Maturity Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Candy Osmundson (Dover, Del.) and husband Grieg; her son, Eric Battin (South New Berlin, N.Y.) and wife Cindy; six grandchildren, Leif Osmundson and wife Casey, Svea Osmundson, Gunther Osmundson and wife Christina, Rayna Osmundson, Courtney Springer and husband Josh, Hunter Battin and wife Devan; and eight great-grandchildren, Finn Osmundson, Scout Osmundson, Oliver Battin, Elsa Osmundson, Iris Schulties, Anderson Springer, Elizabeth Springer and Laekyn Paladino. She was also an honorary mom to Timothy Harrington; as well as honarary grandmother to Tyler, Zachary, and Abigail Harrington.
Services were held privately on Sunday, January 10, 2021. She was loved dearly and will be deeply missed.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Delaware Hospice, an organization that provided peace and comfort to mom and countless others during a difficult season.
