Charles Richard Schneider, 72

DOVER - Charles Richard Schneider, who last resided with his nephew Jamie Miller and his family of Dover, passed away Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008. He was 72. Mr. Schneider was born on Sept. 10, 1936, in Wilmington, to the late Samuel and Rhoada Schneider. He was a 42 year resident of Claymont, and a member of the Ironworker Local 451 in Wilmington. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and tubing down the Brandywine with family and friends. He enjoyed children and was known to many as "Uncle Charlie". He is survived by three brothers and their spouses, Gene L. and Loretta of West Grove, Pa., Roger O. and Jane of Townsend, and James E. and Kathy of Middletown; a sister and her husband, Darling Marie Miller and Tim of Smyrna; 27 nieces and nephews; 43 great nieces and nephews and 11 great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Samuel H. Jr., Donald L., Henry A. Sr. and Joseph L. Schneider. Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008 at R. T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main St., Newark, DE 19711, where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be held private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to R. T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home for funeral expenses. To send condolences visit www.rtfoard.com.
