Charles E. 'Charlie Brown' Fox, 83
Charles E. "Charlie Brown" Fox passed away, Sunday, November 26, 2023, at Bayhealth Sussex Campus. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Charlie was born September 19, 1940, in Washington, DC to June Eula Brown Fox Owens and Charles F. Fox. He was raised by James E. Owens. After spending 17 years in Richmond, VA., he joined the U.S. Air Force serving 2 years completing his GED before his honorable discharge. He then moved to Dover. Charlie worked at a powerplant in Wilmington until he began working Civil Service DAFB Moto Pool, retiring after 33 years. He then went on to work for the State of Delaware driving a DART bus, once again retiring after many years. Charlie was an exceptional mechanic, always willing to help anyone in need. Charlie enjoyed watching NASCAR (Richard Petty), westerns (John Wayne) and MeTV. He never met a stranger and in exchange for a minute of their time he would leave them with a smile. Charlie was a strong, hard-working man who will be greatly missed by his family.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by brother, William E. Fox; special cousin, Doris Cerillo; and his grandson, Collin E. Fox.
He is survived by his loving wife and friend, Peggy R. Pinkine Fox; daughters, Vonda R. Fox (Deb Moore), and Amy M. Fair (John); grandchildren, Seth A. Fair (Laura), Jordan N. Larimore (Ben) and Emma R. Fair; great grandchildren, Oliver and Sawyer Larimore; several nieces including, Susan Perry and Kim Dickie; close friends, and in-laws, Diane and Pee Wee West.
Funeral services will be held 1PM, Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. A viewing will be held one hour prior. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park.
