DEWEY BEACH - Charles E. "Chuck" Cross Jr., of Dewey Beach, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at Beebe Medical Center. He was 59. Mr. Cross was born in Wilmington, son of the late Charles E., Sr. and Florence (Elwood) Cross. He had been a housepainter. He enjoyed going to the beach, sports and working on cars. In addition to his parents, Chuck is preceded in death by a brother, Michael James Cross. He is survived by two children, Charles E. "Chad" Cross III of Philadelphia, and Katie Cross of Dewey Beach; a sister, Cheryl Cross; niece, Rebecca Holson; and great-niece, Paris Jones, all of Virginia Beach, Va.; and his former wife, Linda Beach of Lewes. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the Dewey Beach Lions Club, 115 McKinley Street, Dewey Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Charles E. Cross Memorial Fund, c/o Katy Phlegar, WSFS Bank, 25926 Plaza Drive, Millsboro, DE 19966 or any local branch. Arrangements in the care of Short Funeral Services, Milton.
