Robinson, Sr., 84 SMYRNA - Charles "Charlie" A. Robinson, Sr., age 84 of Smyrna, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2015 at his home. Charlie was born May 27, 1931. Charlie is the son of the late Howard Earl Robinson and Vivian Lane Robinson Moffett. Charlie served in the Army during the Korean War. After returning from Korea, he met and married Charlotte Fay Cordill, his wife of 60 years. Charlie retired from the Delaware State Police where he was an auto mechanic. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. For many years he belonged to the Antique Automobile Club of America. Charlie enjoyed going to car meets like Hershey and touring in his antique cars. Charlie is survived by Charlotte and their three children and their families, Charles A. Robinson, Jr., and his wife Joann of Deep Water, N.J., Jeffery Earl Robinson and his wife, Patty of Smyrna, and Elaine Hallock and her husband, Ed from Little Heaven; three grandchildren, Joe, Kim and Charlie; and seven great grandchildren. Charlie is also survived by a brother and sisters, Robert Robinson of N.Y., Jeanette Yearicks of Fla., Doris Crist of Downs Chapel, Clara Lockwood of Md. and Sharon Wright of Dover. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Vivian; and brothers and sister, Earl Robinson, Howard "Buddy" Robinson, Francis Robinson, John Robinson and Verna Yearicks. A viewing will be held on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
