DOVER - Charles A. "Sonny" Dill, Sr., of Dover, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 8, 2018, in Kent general hospital. Charlie was born on March 11, 1956, to the late Charles A. Dill, and the former, Faye Martin.
Charlie started Dill's Electric of Dover in 1983. In 2016, his youngest son, Christopher took over ownership of Dill's Electric, but Charlie was still involved with the day to day running of the business up until the time of his death.
Charlie loved playing poker, going hunting, and he was an avid reader. Charlie won four Caribbean cruises from playing poker, as well as, winning numerous cash tournaments.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father, Charles A Dill, in 2005; and his son, Charles A "Sonny" Dill, in 2008.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Alice, of Dover; his mother, Faye, of Sarasota, Fla.; his step mother and step father, Diane and Greg Johnson, of Rehoboth; two sons, Richard, and his partner, Jodi, of Hunlock Creek, Pa., Christopher, and his partner, Samantha, of Hartly; brother, Steven and his wife, SueEllen, of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Debbie Apperson and her husband, Sam of Hampton, Va., and Kathy Major, of Sarasota, Fla.; sister in law, Rose Watson, of Utah; brother in law, Robert Just, of Florida; three grandchildren, Brenden Dill, and his mother Summer Fitzhugh, of Camden, Brooke and Nathan Spencer, of Hunlock Creek, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover. Mrs Jean Sudler, of Dover, will be officiating.
