Catherine A. Montague, 87

GALENA, Md. - Catherine A. Montague of Galena, formerly of Wilmington, Del., died Nov. 4, 2006, in Chestertown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Chestertown. She was 87.

Mrs. Montague was born Feb. 18, 1919, and raised near Galena, daughter of the late Alex and Sara (Newnam) Powell.

While living in Wilmington, Mrs. Montague worked in the collating department for the duPont Company for 30 years, before retiring in 1984.

She returned to Galena in 1994.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, George Montague, in 1963; a brother, William A. "Pete" Powell; and two sisters, Josephine S. Kain and Sara Mullinix.

She is survived by two sisters, Jean Greene of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Adelaide "Boots" Ernest of Cecilton.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena. The Rev. Larry Jameson will officiate.

Burial will be in Galena Cemetery.

Pallbears will be Gene Mullinix, Doug Ford, Bert Manlove, Horace Otwell, David Otwell and Donnie Palmer.
