MILLSBORO, Del. - Caroline D. Richter passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 18, 2021. Caroline was the wife of the late Donald L. Richter; daughter of the late Max and Dorothy Greenfield; and sister of the late Bernhard Greenfield. She was born in New York, N.Y.
She held many positions at RCA Victor Records in NYC, where she met her husband Donald. She began as a Personnel Records Clerk and progressed up through the ranks to become the Executive Secretary to the General Plant Manager. While there, she met artists as diverse as Arthur Rubinstein and Elvis Presley.
After years as a stay at home mom, Caroline enjoyed a second career as a Special Education Aide at Sanford H. Calhoun High School, in Merrick, N.Y.
Caroline and Donald retired to Delaware, where they became active members of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Rehoboth Beach, Del., as well as the Indian River Yacht Club. She was a great lover of animals, and especially enjoyed swimming and the beach.
Caroline is survived by her daughter, Gretchen Pippin of Delaware and her husband, Chris; her son, Kyle Richter of Maryland and his wife, Pam; and her grandson, Nicholas Pippin of Delaware and his wife Graciela. She is also survived by four nieces and five nephews.
Funeral services will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
