Bruce R. Waller

DOVER - Bruce R. Waller formerly of Laurel, Del. passed away on Feb. 2, 2014 at Bay Health Kent General Hospital in Dover. Born in Laurel Bruce is a son of the late J. Martin Waller and Ester Mae Waller. He graduated from Laurel High School and served in the United States Navy and the National Guard. Bruce later retired as a Captain for the Delaware Department of Corrections in Georgetown, after 29 years of service. After retirement he worked for Kaye Construction on heavy equipment for 16 years. Bruce enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and after retirement softball, baseball and basketball games. Mr. Waller is survived by his wife of 20 years, Shirley Reynolds Waller of Dover. A brother, Ronald Waller and wife, Rachel of Laurel. Sister-in-law, Joan R. Everett and husband, Frank of Chestertown, Md. A daughter, Margaret Ellen O'Neal of Laurel. Nieces and nephews, Jodie E. Morris and husband, Andy of Felton and their children, Kayla Popham and Mason Morris. James P. Popham and wife, Andrea of Middletown and their children, Emma and Alli Popham. A Service will be held with Military Honors in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel on Thursday Feb. 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial donations can be made in Mr. Waller's honor to a charity of your choice.
