'Chicken Hawk', 54 LITTLE CREEK - Bruce A. Marvel "Chicken Hawk" of Little Creek passed away Saturday Oct. 26, 2013 at home. He was 54. Bruce was born October 17, 1959 in Dover to Harry Marvel, Sr. and Leora Drake Marvel. He had worked at the Coca Cola Bottling Plant, as a waterman before working for the City of Dover Streets Department as an Equipment Operator for the past 12 years. Bruce was a member of the Little Creek Fire Company. He enjoyed bowling, crabbing, clamming, fishing and hunting. Bruce is survived by his parents, Harry and Leora Marvel of Little Creek; his wife of 17 years, Pamela Opdyke Marvel of Little Creek; daughter, Olivia Opdyke Marvel of Little Creek; brothers, Harry Marvel, Jr. and his wife Barbie and Wayne Marvel all of Little Creek; sister, Teresa Carrow and her husband Carlton of Hartly; mother in law, MaryEllen Opdyke; brother in laws, Donald Opdyke and his wife Emily, Ricky and Ronny Mayhall; aunt, Vera Conner; nieces and nephews, Melissa, Mary, Melinda, Heather, Kristen, Paige, Jacob, Steven, Adam, Austin, Angie, Megan, Alexis, Jamie, Drew, Tom and Kyle; great nieces and nephews, Steven, Jr., Kera, Tegan, Trevor, Lillie and Nick. He is also survived by his loving dogs, Paisley and DQ. A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Barrett's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
