Beverly Jean Jopp

Beverly Jean Jopp, 57

HARRINGTON - Beverly Jean Jopp of Harrington died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, in her home. She was 57.

Mrs. Jopp was born in Camden, N.J., daughter of the late Benn "Bud" and Esther Louise Simpson.

She graduated from North Caroline High School in 1966.

She worked at Maryland National Bank, Easton, Md., and later at People's Bank in both Marydel and Ridgely, Md. She also owned and operated a fabric store in Denton with Susie Simpson. In addition, she was a Longaberger basket consultant. Most recently, she was a financial agent with the Department of Social Services.

Mrs. Jopp enjoyed people, quilting, sewing, the beach and most of all, her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Lord Taylor; and her father-in-law, George Henry Jopp.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Darryl Bennett Jopp; a son, Darryl Bennett Jopp Jr. and his companion, Nan Brown, and her daughter, Chelsea Brown, all of Ridgely; a daughter and a son-in-law, Amy Jean and Michael Woodward of Ridgely; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Benn III and Susie Simpson of Greensboro, Md., and John Simpson of Ridgely; four grandchildren, Zachary Bennett Jopp, Mallary Ann Jopp, Nathan Bennett Jopp and Emily Michael Carol Woodward; her mother-in-law, Mary Elizabath Jopp of Greensboro; a brother-in-law, Randy Jopp and his wife, Susie, of Greensboro; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Adkins and Stephanie Woodward; a step-great-grandchild, GraceAnne Adkins; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Burial will be in Greensboro Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Hope Lodge, 636 W. Lexington St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
