DOVER - Betty R. Humphries passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Jan. 5, 2017. She was born on Aug. 7, 1938 in Jellico, Ky., the daughter of the late George and Donna Goley. Mrs. Humphries retired after a long rewarding career with Kent-Sussex Industries. Betty was an avid reader of mystery novels. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and was a wonderful cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Lawson; her granddaughter, Karen Lawson; her grandson, Aiden Cahall; two sisters, Jessie Caley and Roberta Ellard; and a brother, Robert Goley. She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Raymond; her son, Glen John Cahall (Patricia); three grandchildren, Kristie Roberson (Daven), Kevin Lawson (Shana) and Christian Cahall; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and her sister, Mabel Spencer. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park in Dover.
