GREENSBORO, Md. - Betty C. Boyd of Greensboro died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, in Caroline Home for Hospice, Denton. She was 78.
She was born Dec. 7, 1928, in Queenstown, to the late Earl and Florence (Drews) Cannon.
Mrs. Boyd was a 1946 graduate of Greensboro High School.
She was employed with the Acme Grocery Stores, retiring from Centreville after 25 years of service.
Mrs. Boyd was an honorary member of the Caroline Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars 7937 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
She did volunteer work for the Samaritan House of Denton.
Mrs. Boyd enjoyed gardening and being outdoors.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Larimore and Helen Fletcher; her companion, Edward Wilson; and two great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Gloria and husband Joe Parks of Felton, Del., Barbara Evans and companion Joe Hutson of Greensboro and Debbie Scarbourgh and companion Wayne Clough of Ridgely; two sisters, Nelda Knox of Greensboro and Shirley Hutson of Felton, Del.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Cricket.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. today in Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro.
Interment will be in Greensboro Cemetery.
