MILLSBORO - Beatrice M. Brasure went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 26, 2018.
Bea was born in Millsboro on June 25, 1932 one of eight to the late Roy W. Brasure and Blanche A. (Wootten) Brasure. She was a graduate of Millsboro High School Class of 1950. After graduating from high school, Bea worked for Collins & Ryan in Millsboro and shortly thereafter began her career at Farmer's Bank in Lewes and Georgetown, where she eventually retired.
She loved time spent with her family and going to church. She was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Millsboro where she sung in the choir for years. In her free time, she enjoyed taking rides throughout the community and visiting Cupola Park in Millsboro where she would feed the ducks and geese. Bea also spent a lot of time visiting shut-ins and residents of the nursing home in Millsboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her six siblings, Hilda Klatt, Margaret Kopple, Irene Savage, Marion McCabe, Betty Morris and Leroy Brasure. She is survived by her sister, Nancy Scorah and her husband, Wayne of Millsboro and their two children, Todd and his wife, Becky and Todd's son, Jordan and Chad and his wife Lorette. She is also survived by ten other nieces and nephews, Alan Klatt and his wife Monte, Chuck Kopple and his wife, Terry, Gary Kopple, Tom Kopple, Connie Lathbury and her husband, Chip, Wanda Weber, Ormil Savage and his wife, Jennifer, Theresa Megee, Dennis McCabe and his wife, Karen and Kristin Fisher and her husband, Mitchell and several great and great great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends and family may call after 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Millsboro Cemetery, Millsboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Bea's name to Grace United Methodist Church, PO Box 566, Millsboro, DE 19966
