Beatrice C. Bishop

SMYRNA - Beatrice C. Bishop, of Smyrna, formerly of Essex Jct., Vt., having loved our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, has gone home to be with Him on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. She was 92. Mrs. Bishop was born Jan. 26, 1919, in Essex Jct., Vt., to the late Harry Center and Bessie Sheldon Center-Phelps. She retired from IBM after working several years as the only female Machine Operator at the Essex Jct. plant. She was a very active member of the Pentecostal Church of Jericho of Vermont. She was a founding member of the Essex Jct. Pentecostal Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Center; and a sister, Esther Cota. Mrs. Bishop is survived by her loving daughters, Elaine T. Gladue of Tuscon, Ariz., Anna LeGrand and her husband Andrew of Fort Smith, Ark., and Delvina Willson and her husband Ricky of Smyrna; a sister, Bernice Weston of Underhill, Vt.; ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and two more on the way. Funeral services will be noon, Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at noon in the Faries Funeral Chapel located on 29 S. Main St., Smyrna, where friends may call an hour before the services. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Smyrna. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
