DOVER - Beatrice A. White, of Dover, departed this life on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in the Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 83.
She was born Nov. 3, 1924, in Clayton, daughter of the late Harvey W. Carney and Susan (Robinson) Carney.
Bea attended the public schools of Delaware.
Later in life she went to nursing school and graduated as an LPN. After which she did private duty nursing until retirement.
After moving from Delaware to Baltimore, she moved from Baltimore, to Chester, Pa., where she met and married Wesley White.
Later on they moved from Chester to Crum Lynne, Pa., where she lived for 47 years.
After the passing of her husband, Bea moved back to Dover, in 2006 to be close to her daughter.
Mom Bea's greatest enjoyment was watching the Roller Derby, Cops and the Cook show's on TV and also listening to Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC's.
She loved to meet new people and talking to her family and friends.
Most recently, Bea became a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Dover.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savoir.
Mom Bea leaves to mourn her loss, son, Harvey (Chuck) W. Carney of Wilmington; one daughter, Barbara Williams of Magnolia; nine grandchildren, Cindy, Jocelyn, Iris, Karen, Nathan, Anthony, Keith, Shawne and Melvin L; 24 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen McKeldin of Baltimore; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; a devoted niece, Iona Robinson, Chester, Pa., whom she called baby daughter; a special friend Jesse Walker of Dover; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 717 W. Division St., Dover.
