Barbara B. Hadaway, 91

GREENWOOD - Barbara B. Hadaway, died Saturday, March 21, 2009, in the Country Rest Nursing Home in Greenwood. She was 91. Barbara B. Hadaway was born Aug. 30, 1917, in Rock Hall, Md., the daughter of the late Pierson W. and Emma Joiner Bigelow. Mrs. Hadaway was a past Worthy Matron of Chapter 86 Order of the Eastern Star in Chestertown, Md. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hadaway was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hadaway; one son, Cawood Hadaway; five brothers, David, Gerald, Franklin, James and John Bigelow; and one sister Melva Wells. She is survived by three sons, Edward Hadaway Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Smyrna, Hugh Hadaway of Apalachicola, Fla., Arnold Hadaway and his wife Sue of Annapolis, Md.; daughter-in-law, Meredith Davies Hadaway; one sister, Adeline Knotts of Smyrna; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road Chestertown, Md. Friends may call one hour prior.
