Schutte, Jr., 67 LINCOLN - August "Gus" O. Schutte, Jr. passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Milford Hospital. Mr. Schutte was born, Dec. 12, 1947 in Dover, Del. to the late August O. Schutte, Sr. and Katherine White Schutte. He worked as an instructor in architectural drafting/civil engineering at Delaware Tech Terry Campus, retiring in 2007. Prior to working at the college he worked for the State Highway Department. Mr. Schutte enjoyed traveling with his family, admiring classic cars; especially the 1955 Chevy Bel Air, architecture, the gulf coast of Florida, and reminding everyone that he was "forever 19." He was a member of the Mobile-Surf Fishermen's Club. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Michele Seutter Schutte of Lincoln; son, August O. Schutte, III and his wife Cassandra Sue of West Melbourne, Fla.; daughters, Gretchen Lyn Schutte of Sterling, Va., Kate Marie Haynes and her husband Wesley Paul of Wilmington, Del., Melissa Anne Schutte of Lincoln; sisters, Ellenine Jane Hofmann and her husband Gerhard of Doylestown, Pa. and Kathe Marie Koblischek of Moorestown, N.J.; and grandson, August O. Schutte, IV. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, Del. Friends may call from 11-1. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to a scholarship that will be established in his name at Delaware Technical Community College – Terry Campus. This will allow future students to benefit from an amazing teacher and man. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com
