MILLINGTON, MD - Arthur Ringgold Gary, Jr. of Millington, Md. died on Monday, April 30, 2012 at his home. He was 71. Mr. Gary was born on Jan. 24, 1941, in Chestertown, Md. He was the son of the late Arthur Ringgold Sr. and Carrie Rebecca Greenwood Gary. In 1959, he graduated from Chestertown High School. He began working at Worton Creek Marina for several years and became a life insurance agent for Peoples Life Insurance Company. For the past 30 years, he has been the parts manager at Atlantic Tractor, formerly William Cooper and Sons in Chestertown, Md., retiring in 2006. He was a member of Kennedyville United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and served on the Administrative Board and for several years, sang with a quartet named Waters Chapel Singers. He was also a member of the Betterton - Still Pond Lion's Club, serving as secretary. He loved model trains, chair caning, bird watching, wood working, especially building bird houses. His family was the most important part of his life. In addition to his wife of 50 years, Margaret Ann Gary, he is survived by two daughters; Judy Davidson and husband Jerry of Millington, Md., and Deborah VanSant and husband Phil of Galena, Md.; and six grandchildren, Joy Zimmerman of Coatesville, Pa., Jaclyn Davidson of Powell, Tenn., Jared Davidson of Powell, Tenn., James Davidson of Knoxville, Tenn., Brittany Margaret VanSant of Galena, Md. and Jessica Davidson of Millington, Md. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Kennedyville United Methodist Church in Kennedyville, MD. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., 130 Speer Road Chestertown, MD. Interment will follow in the adjoining church yard cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kennedyville United Methodist Church, P.O.
