Andra Sue (Timko) Malloy, 63

MILFORD - Andra Sue (Timko) Malloy of Milford died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, at her home, surrounded with the love of her family. She was 63.

Sue was born in Casper, Wyo., on Aug. 23, 1943, daughter of the late Lois M. and Andrew Timko.

She was a 1961 graduate of William Penn High School, New Castle.

In 1965, Sue graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor"s degree in education.

She briefly taught English in public schools in Delaware and New Jersey, later giving up her teaching career to raise her family.

In 1990 she graduated from La Salle University, Philadelphia, where she earned a master"s degree in religious studies.

Soon after graduation, Sue reentered the work place as a liturgy coordinator at Holy Cross Church, Dover.

Sue enjoyed cooking, needlework, scrapbooking, reading and being with her family.

She was an active member of St. John"s Catholic Church and of her community in Milford.

Sue was one of the first volunteers for the Hospital Escort Service at Milford Memorial Hospital; with a friend, she opened the School Store at Benjamin Banneker Elementary School in Milford.

She also worked in various capacities at the polls during elections.

At St. John"s, Sue was a CCD teacher and a member of the choir, altar society and liturgy committee. She directed the RCIA; was a member of the parish council; was involved in marriage preparation and was an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion.

Sue was also a Crusillo team member involved in Marriage Encounter; a member of the Diocesan Liturgy Commission for two terms and she taught several courses for the commission.

Her greatest passion and recipient of her love and guidance was her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Holly Schwab.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, James D. Malloy; a daughter, Kathleen D. and her husband David Graham and grandsons, Miles Andrew Graham and Max Warfield Graham; a son, Michael J. Malloy and his wife, Melanie J. (Arnold) Malloy and granddaughter, Meghan Lindsay Malloy; a daughter, Andrea L. Malloy; her sister, Kay Lynn Meade and her husband, Robert Meade; her sister-in-law, Mary Anne Healey; her brother-in-law, Glenn Long; and her nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Ave., Milford, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Dover.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Ave., Milford, DE 19963; or to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
