DOVER - Alberta C. Wilson went to her loving Savior's arms on Sept. 13, 2017, after a long-awaited journey spent since her salvation in Jun. of 1976, in preparation for the face-to-face meeting with Jesus. She lived with a burning passion to be obedient to Him in all her ways. She lived amidst a constant struggle to keep the flesh under and the soul yielded to the Spirit of God so that He might have free reign in her life. She had a sincere love for the Eternal Word that was evidenced by her devotion to that written Word, and her diligent, bold, and persistent exposition of it. She sought to lead by example both to her husband, her church, her community, and the world at-large.
Her husband loved her and appreciated her, not for her meals, nor her domestic endeavors, but for her unwavering faith in her Savior's plan and purpose for her life.
Alberta leaves to rejoice in her memory, her devoted husband of nearly 34 years, Woodrow Lee Wilson; two brother-in-laws, Edward Wilson, and James Wilson; three sister-in-laws, Donna Wilson, Patricia Wilson, and Minnie Salmon; aunts; nieces, nephews, all the children she's supported through the years; the entire First Baptist Church of Milford family; friends; and the many folks that have come into her presence.
Her legacy can be summed up in the following saying: "If you meet me and forget me, you've lost nothing. If you meet Jesus Christ and forget Him, you've lost everything."
A funeral service will be held on Monday, Sept. 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 6062 Old Shawnee Rd., Milford, DE 19963, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Interment at Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
Arrangements in the care of Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford.
