Albert Wesley Hartzel

BRIDGEVILLE - Albert Wesley Hartzel, a Bridgeville Farmer and Retired Plumber from Comfort Heating Co. departed this world on Sun., Mar. 1, 2015 at home with his wife of 68 years, Gladys Dolby Hartzel at his side. Mr. Hartzel was born on Dec. 20, 1924 in Federalsburg, Md., son of the late George and Sarah (Collins) Hartzel. For many years Mr. Hartzel also raised broiler chickens on his farm. He enjoyed fishing; working in his woodworking shop but most importantly was the time he spent with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents Albert was preceded in death by his brother, William Hartzell; and his sister, Myra Redman. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Gladys (Dolby) Hartzel of Bridgeville; his son, Wesley Hartzel; his daughter Brenda Lewis and her husband Jim of New Castle; four granddaughters, Cindy Mast of Milford; Allison Hollingsworth of Dover; Angela Allen and her husband David, Jennifer Kintz and her husband Patrick all of Lincoln; eight great-grandchildren; his ex-daughter-in-law, Rebecca; sister-in-law, Connie Hartzel, all of Bridgeville; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Fri., Mar. 6, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Bridgeville Cemetery, Market & Law Streets, Bridgeville. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville.
