Albert R. Siter, 72

WORTON, Md. - Albert R. Siter of Worton, formerly of Morton, Pa., died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at home. He was 72.

Mr. Siter was born May 1, 1935, in Darby, Pa., son of the late Bartlett and Helen (Wheightman) Siter.

He was a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy.

Mr. Siter joined the family owned business A.S. Siter & Son Inc., a wholesale florist in Morton.

He moved to Worton in the 1980s, where he continued propagation of Siter Hybrid Cineraria and enjoyed hunting, crabbing and farming.

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Patricia August Siter; and a brother, John Siter.

Mr. Siter is survived by his children, Deborah and her husband David Rayer of Ridley Park, Pa., Richard Siter of Morton, and Sharon Siter of Worton; his former wife, Ann Blackiston Siter and their children, Scott Siter, Fritz Siter and Brittany Siter, all of Chestertown; his wife, Estella P. Siter of Worton, and her children, John Phillips and James Phillips and Master Sgt. Scott Phillips; his sister, Marion and her husband Leonard Willey of New Hampshire; his brothers, Bartlett Siter Jr. of New Jersey and William Siter of Delaware; four grandchildren, Katie, Lauren, Beau and Michelle; three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and his faithful companions, Sugar, Buster and Max.

Memorial services will be 8 p.m. Thursday in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., where friends may call one hour prior.

A memorial service will also be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood, Pa., where friends may call at 9 a.m.

Interment to follow at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala Cynwyd, Pa.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Chesapeake Bay Retriever Relief & Rescue, c/o Humane Society of Kent County, 10720 Augustine Herman Highway, Chestertown, MD 21620.
