Agnes 'Carolyn' Krause, 70

HARTLY - Agnes "Carolyn" Krause, of Hartly, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2008, in Kent General Hospital. She was 70. Mrs. Krause was born Sept. 2, 1938, in Takotna, Alaska, to Ann Demientieff and the late William Demientieff. She had worked for Value City in Dover from 1980 till her retirement in 1998. After her retirement she enjoyed gardening, bird watching in the backyard, and spending time with her family and attending church. Mrs. Krause was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Marydel, Md. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Sloop; her brothers, George and Joey Demientieff; a half brother, Arnold "Bobo" Demientieff; and a grandson, Jeff Vanderwende. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Ralph Krause of Hartly; her son, Michael Devenere of Spokane, Wash.; her 90 year old mother, Ann Demientieff of McGrath, Alaska; four sisters, Justina "Deena" Penney of Buxton, Maine, Maryann Grice, Marita Biddle and Theresa Demientieff all of Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, James of McGrath, Alaska; sons and daughter-in-laws, Jeffrey Krause and Lisa Vincent of Greenwood, Matthew and Deanna Rolland of Newark, and Bryan and Glenda Krause of Milford; grandchildren, Brianna, Christian, Bryan Jr., Caleb and Aurora; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Conception Church, 514 Main St., Marydel, MD 21649. Burial will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. Arrangements by Torbert Funeral Chapels, Dover.
