Zonia Edward Tackett

Tackett, 79 SMYRNA - Zonia Edward Tackett passed away at his home on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012. Mr. Tackett was born March 14, 1933 in Jonancy, Ky. the son of the late Carlie and Francis Tackett. Zonia retired after 31 years at Chrysler in Newark, Del. He enjoyed restoring old cars and riding motorcycles. He was a God fearing man who loved the Lord. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Susie, Kenneth and Kay. He is survived by his wife Charlotte of 34 years; a sister, Marie Sheppard of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; his cousin, Collie Eldred Tackett of Lincoln Park, Mich.; five nephews, Gary, Charlie, and David Tackett, all of Delaware, and Roy and Steve Sheppard, both of Fla.; his stepsons, whom he considered to be his sons, Art (Barbara) Lane of Newark, Glen (De Ann) Lane of Clayton and Chris Lane of Smyrna; and five grandchildren, John Dean of Fla., Jennifer Hanner also of Fla., Kody Lane of Newark, and Courtney and Brandon Lane of Clayton. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 in the Faith Baptist Church, located at 922 Wheatleys Pond Road, Smyrna, where friends may call at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Bryn Zion Cemetery in Smyrna.
