Winona (Jones) Steele, 83

SEAFORD - Winona (Jones) Steele of Seaford died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, in Genesis Elder Care, Seaford. She was 83.

Born in Rowlesburg, W.Va., Winona was the daughter of the late Leoda (Hovatter) and Robert C. Jones.

She was a homemaker, and a devoted wife and mother.

Winona was a member of the First Baptist Church of Seaford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer F. Knepper.

She is survived by her husband, H. Alvin Steele of Seaford; two sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Debbie Knepper and Dustin and Lorraine Knepper, all of Bridgeville; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Larry Fisher of Mardela Springs, Md.; three grandchildren, Michael Fisher, Jeffery Fisher and Allyson Smith; two great-grandchildren, Ansley Smith and Jarrett Smith of Wilson, N.C.; and a dear and close friend, Wanda Hearne of Delmar.

Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. in Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front and King streets, Seaford, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Pastor John R. Hancock will officiate.

Burial will be in Bridgeville Cemetery.
