Wilson Warren Sr., 79

WILMINGTON - Wilson Warren Sr., passed away Friday, June 12, 2009, in St. Francis Hospital. He was 79. He was born on Aug. 8, 1929 in Camden, son of the late Joseph and Ardessa (Jones) Warren. Wilson had worked as a truck driver. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Nathan Warren. He is survived by his children, Wilson Warren Jr. and his wife Delaine of Wilmington, Alfonzo Warren of Wilmington, Michael Warren and his wife Geneva of Dover, Anthony Warren of California, Deborah Warren-Johnson of Wilmington, Pamela Warren-Carr of Wilmington, and Johnny Warren of Atlanta, Ga.; his siblings, Mildred Caldwell of Dover, Joseph Warren Jr. of Dover, Ardessa Deputy and her husband Albert of Dover, Clementine Knighton and her husband Charles of Dover, Charles Warren and his wife Gayle of Dover, Joyce Torres of Dover, Rose Carter and her husband Garth of Dover, Gerald Warren and his wife Leslie of Frederica, and Marine Warren of Dover; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the First Pilgrim Baptist Church, 6 Miles Lane, Camden, where friends may gather one hour before services. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE 19934 to help with expenses.
