Willie Mae Brown, 77

BRIDGEVILLE - Willie Mae Brown of Bridgeville departed this life Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital with her children by her side. She was 77.

Ms. Brown was born Aug. 4, 1929. She was an only child.

She was joined in holy matrimony Oct. 28, 1951, to the late Elmer Brown Sr., and to this union five children were born.

Ms. Brown was affectionately called "Snooks" by many friends and family members. She was known by her beautiful white hair.

Also, anyone who knew or came in contact with her would recognize right away she loved to talk.

Although she had the gift of gab, she had a loving and giving spirit. She had a real passion for helping anyone who was in need. She just celebrated 15 years of dedicated service with the Senior Companion Program. She made a difference in everyone"s life with whom she came in contact.

She leaves to mourn a very faithful son and a daughter-in-law, Willie and Barbara Giles of Greenwood; a daughter and a son-in-law, Elma Juanita and Cleveland Chandler of Bridgeville; a son and a daughter-in-law, Richard and Blanca Brown of Salisbury, Md.; a son and a daughter-in-law, Elmer and Rosemary Brown of Seaford; a daughter and a son-in-law, Towanda and Hart Coleman of New Castle; a son whom she adopted as her own and his wife, Willie and Betty Edwards of Bridgeville; five grandchildren, Amanda, Elmer, Richard, Travis and Monshell; a stepgrandson, Tom; several great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and many, many friends.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Woodbridge Elementary School, U.S. 13, Greenwood, where friends may call two hours earlier.

Arrangements by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Seaford.
