WILMINGTON - William 'Bill' W. Tarburton passed away on June 11, 2012, at his home. Bill was born on March 24, 1929, in Woodbury, N.J., son of the late Leon Tarburton and Mary Ford. Growing up in the Camden-Wyoming, Del. area, he was stationed in Denver, Colo. as a member of the Air Force. Spending most of his life in accounting, he retired in 1991 from Harry S. Wilson, Inc. He was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and enjoyed traveling. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his step-father, George McClelland; a sister, Doris Queen; brother, James Tarburton all of Camden; and his life companion of 50 years, Donald Clauson of Wilmington. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Luff of Felton, Del.; and several nieces and nephews, including Joseph Queen and James Queen. The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful staff at the Evergreen Center, whose compassionate care enriched Bill's life these past few months. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at 11 am at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 2800 Duncan Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Interment will be private. Contributions may be made to St. Barnabas Episcopal Church or the Alzheimer's Association DE Chapter, 240 N. James St., Newport, DE 19804. To send condolences visit: www.mccreryandharra.com.
