DOVER - William W. Smith of Dover died Monday, Jan. 8, 2007, in Dover. He was 18.
Mr. Smith was born July 15, 1988, in Long Island, N.Y., son of Yvonne Brown and the late Anthony R. Smith.
He enjoyed basketball since he started at 8. He started in the Storming Norman Basketball league for kids. He also played for the Boys and Girls Club League until he was 15. He played freshman and junior varsity basketball for Dover High School.
He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony R. Smith.
He is survived by his mother, Yvonne Brown of Dover; two sisters, Shenikqwa and Tabitha of Long Island, N.Y.; five brothers, Dwayne, Dwight, Jason, Joshua and Antonio, all of Long Island, N.Y.; his girlfriend, Ashley and their unborn child of Dover; a niece; and four nephews.
Services will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover.
Services will also be noon Saturday in the funeral home, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Whatcoat Cemetery, Dover.
