William Thomas Bramble

William 'Tom' Thomas Bramble, 81 CRUMPTON, Md. - William Thomas Bramble, of Crumpton, died Monday, July 7, 2008, in the Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. He was 81. Tom was born Nov. 7, 1926, in Massey, the son of the late William Maxwell Bramble and Marie "Edwards" Bramble. He worked as a sanitation engineer for Chrysler in Newark, Del., for 37 years. After he retired he then went to work for Hardwood Mills in Millington. Tom married Jean Loretta "Starkey" Bramble on Aug. 26, 1987, and the two were married for 21 years. He was a member of the Elkton Moose Lodge 851 and Legion 183. He loved to watch the Baltimore Orioles play ball, work in his vegetable garden and have a cold beverage. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by three brothers; and one granddaughter. He is survived by his wife, Jean Loretta Bramble of Crumpton; one son, William Thomas Bramble Jr. and wife Kyle of Earleville; one sister, Anna Willis of Galena; one brother, John E. Bramble of Earleville; one stepson, Edward James Walls of Bridgeville, Del.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday in the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington, where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be held in Crumpton Cemetery in Crumpton. Instead of flowers, contributions can be sent to the American Cancer Society, Kent County, P.O. Box 711, Chestertown, MD 21620.
