GUMBORO - William T. Brown, age 79, of Gumboro, passed away Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Md. Bill served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He retired as an Electrical Engineer with the Dupont Nylon Plant in Seaford after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Joshua House Church in Gumboro. He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi; and a son, T.L. Brown. He is survived by three children, Linda Shirley, Ruth Collins and Chuck Reynolds; a sister, Evelyn B. Flournoy; eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Bill is also survived by his best friend, Byard Layton and his wife Phyllis. A funeral service was held 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 10, at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services on Thatcher Street, Frankford, where friends called after 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will be held on Monday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Bill's memory to, Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
