CAMDEN - William R. Sparks, of Camden, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011. He was 79. He was born May 20, 1931, in Altoona, Pa., to the late Wilson and Edith Hamilton Sparks. Mr. Sparks served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Social Security Administration, retiring as manager of the Georgetown office in 1989. He later worked for the Dawson Bus Service in Camden. He was a member of the Camden-Wyoming Rotary Club and the Civil War Round Table. Bill had a lifelong interest in military history, music and learning. He was also very devoted to his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Sparks. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Peggy Sparks of Camden; two daughters, Valerie Sparks and her husband Scott Kittle of Ruther Glen, Va., and Jennifer Sparks and her husband Lars Norpchen of Pacifica, Calif.; five grandsons, Sean, Tyler, Christopher, Dominic and Eamon Kittle; and his brother, Edwin Sparks of Middletown. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 East Lebanon Rd., Dover. Friends may call Wednesday evening 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 4, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Ginger McGinnes; a son, Jordon McGinnes; daughters, Renee McGinnes and Hannah McGinnes; father, William R. McGinnes, Sr. and his stepmother Pam; his mother, Linda McGinnes and her companion Tim Walsh; grandparents, Grace Avery and Horace and Linda Wilson; brother, Brian McGinnes; sister, Hope McGinnes; stepsister, Anna Kilgore; and three nephews A Funeral Service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011, at the Watson Funeral Home, where friends may call after noon.
