MILFORD - William R. Harris passed away on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at Bayhealth @ Milford Memorial Hospital. William was born in Milford, the son of John T. and Dorothy (Smith) Harris. Many years ago he was a police officer for the City of Rehoboth. He also worked as a constable for Sussex County and worked with Bob Lawson on the farm. He was an umpire for Milford Little League. He enjoyed attending Stock Car Races. He attended the Christian Tabernacle. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, William R. Harris, II of Milford; two brothers, Ronald (Jean) Harris of Vanceburg, Ky. and John Wayne Harris of Lincoln; Good friend who took him to all his doctor's appointments, Joseph Isaacs of Milford; nephew, Jeff Harris; three nieces, Sebrina Marland, Melissa Harris and Donna Martina. Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, where friends may call after 12:00 noon. Interment will be in Milford Community Cemetery.
