William 'Bill'Nieslawski, 73

DOVER - William "Bill" Nieslawski of Dover died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 73.

Mr. Nieslawski was born May 7, 1934, in Peru-LaSalle, Ill., to the late Anthony and Margaret Nieslawski.

He served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years, through the Korean and Vietnam conflicts, retiring as a master sergeant.

He then worked for Valley National Gasses, retiring as store manager in 2000 following 20 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Irene Wojciechoshki and Gen DiCiacca; and brothers, John Nieslawski and Walter Nieslawski.

Mr. Nieslawski is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barbara; one son, William A. Nieslawski of Illinois; a stepson, William Burris and his wife Lisa of Camden; two stepdaughters, Sherry Smith and her husband Steve of Wisconsin, and Gail White and her husband Jim of Camden; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Eula Sheats of Bear; a brother-in-law, Alfred Sheats Jr. of Bear; a sister-in-law, Betty Fox of Newark; a brother, Edward Nieslawski of Illinois; and two sisters, Florence Myers and Rosemary Wright, both of Illinois.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.

Interment will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
