William Moldoch Sr. of Preston died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, in the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore. He was 84.
Mr. Moldoch was born in New York, son of the late Matthew and Aniela (Drozd) Moldoch.
He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
In 1947 he moved to Denton and began teaching library and physical education at the Preston School. From 1948 to 1958, he taught P.E. and health at Caroline High School. From 1958 to 1960, he was principal and P.E. teacher at Preston School, then principal there until 1961. From January 1962 until Dec. 31, 1973, he was assistant principal at the Colonel Richardson High School in American Corner where, in January 1974, he became principal, a position he held until he retired in 1977.
Mr. Moldoch was a member of the Caroline County and Maryland State Retired Teachers Associations.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Osbourn Moldoch, Sept. 14, 1999.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Moldoch Jr. of Severna Park and Matthew and Tammy Moldoch of Greensboro; two sisters, Marian Gilder of Jersey City, N.J. and Janina Moldoch of Scotch Plains, N.J.; a nephew, Robert Gilder of Easton, Pa.; and a granddaughter, Marissa Moldoch.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Moore Funeral Home, PA, 12 S. Second St., Denton, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will follow in Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Wesleyan Christian School, P.O. Box 118, Denton, MD 21629.
