GREENWOOD - William "Bill" Lester Johnson passed away on Oct. 23, 2016 at his home. He was born Dec. 12, 1936 in Greenwood, the son of the late Elisha and Enola Spear Johnson. Bill served in the US Army from 1961 to 1962. He worked at the DuPont Company in Seaford for 32 years, retiring in 1991 and for 11 years at the Sears in Seaford. Bill and his wife also owned and operated B & B Farms from 1979 until present. Bill was a member of the Harrington Moose Lodge. In past years he enjoyed bowling, hunting, having a vegetable garden, and putting up Christmas decorations with his wife. He was a loving husband and father. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings Charlotte, Paul, Ida Bell, Wesley, and Jimmy. He was survived by his wife of 54 years, Brenda; a daughter, Dawn (James) Conley, of Harrington; a son, Curt Johnson, of Greenwood; two brothers, Harold (Connie) Johnson, of Alabama and Wayne (June) Johnson, of Long Neck; a sister, Gail Johnson, of Bridgeville; and extended family. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 at 12 noon at Fleischauer Funeral Home, 16 W. Market Street, Greenwood, DE 19950. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Interment service will be held at St. Johnstown Cemetery in Greenwood. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the America Heart Association, PO Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693.
