William Jasper 'High Pockets' Hopkins, 79
MILSBORO - William Jasper "High Pockets" Hopkins of Millsboro died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, in Harbor Health Care, Lewes. He was 79.
Mr. Hopkins was past president of the Eastern Shore Riders motorcycle club.
He loved mechanical work and was a great shade tree mechanic, and loved to play jokes on people and have fun.
Mr. Hopkins was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10638, Millsboro.
His pastimes were Uncle Willies, Dunkin Donuts and eating chicken and dumplings.
Mr. Hopkins retired after 42 years as a truck driver for Reed Trucking.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah Sr. and Anna Mae (Burton) Hopkins; a brother, Preston Hopkins; and his sisters, Minnie Bibbens and Viola Drummond.
He is survived by his children, Wanda Hopkins, Shari Harris and her husband Marvin, Jeff Hopkins and his wife Keetie, all of Millsboro, and Marcary Hopkins of Dover; brothers, Noah Hopkins Jr., Melvin "Bub" Hopkins and Kendall "Buck" Hopkins; sisters, Lillian "Lib" Kenney and Elva Wise; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call two hours prior.
Interment will be 2 p.m. Monday at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
