BRIDGEVILLE, Del. - William James Vaughn (Skidmore), died Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at Delaware Hospice Center. He was born in Wilmington, Del., son of the late David Skidmore and his mother Nancy Smith Vaughn. He was preceded in death by his step father, John Vaughn, (Feb 23, 2012); and a step daughter Shannon (2001). He served in the US Army and attended James H. Grove School. He loved animals and working with them and was a kind and giving person. In addition to his mother, he leaves behind his wife, Janet; siblings, Donna, Harry, and Henry Vaughn; also three half siblings, Emily Troyer, Donnie and Linda Skidmore; a step sister and brother, John Vaughn, Jr. and Becky Barlow; several nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles; and a very special aunt, Catherine Grant. Funeral services will be Tuesday May 29, 2012, at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, DE 19963, where friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be 2 p.m. at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro, DE.
