Nicholas, MD, 71 WILMINGTON - William James Nicholas, MD passed away Saturday March 24, 2013. Dr. Nicholas was born Sept. 16, 1941 in Wilmington, Del. to the late James Nicholas and Olga Plerhoples Nicholas. He was the valedictorian at Dover High School and attended Harvard College and then received his medical degree from University of Athens Greece Medical School. He was highly regarded as a physician. Dr. Nicholas had a private practice in Dover and then Wilmington. He was an avid boater, musician, and artist. Dr. Nicholas was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Wilmington. Dr. Nicholas is survived by his brother, Steve Nicholas of Wilmington, and best friend, Julie Drew and extended family in the United States and Lesvos, Greece. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m, Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 808 N. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 808 N. Broom Street, Wilmington, De 19805 or the Delaware Humane Association 701 A Street Wilmington, DE 19801. Letters of condolence may be sent and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com
