HOUSTON - William Harrison Kreisher of Houston, formerly of Bucks County, Pa., passed away Saturday, May 26, 2007, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was 76.
Mr. Kreisher was born Aug. 22, 1930, in Abington, Pa., son of the late George Jacob and Edith (Stacey) Kreisher.
He was a painter working for the Central Bucks School District for 20 years before retiring in 1992.
After moving to Delaware, Mr. Kreisher enjoyed doing lawnmower repair as well as doing lawn work for the local residents.
He was an avid hunter and loved boating, fishing, being outdoors and especially enjoyed watching all sports. He also enjoyed gardening, especially growing his own vegetables.
In the 1950s, he excelled as a pitcher in the local semi-pro baseball leagues.
Mr. Kreisher was an active member of the Ottsville Volunteer Fire Co. in Ottsville, Pa. during the 1970s. He also was an honorary member of both the Kiellersville Sportsman"s Club and the Loyal Order of Moose in Doylestown, Pa. He was a very kind, gentle, forgiving and giving man. He was a loving family man and had a knack to be able to make friends very easily. He will be truly missed by all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur Kreisher, George Kreisher and Morris Kreisher; and five sisters, Grace Brown, Dorothy Dill, Madeline Anderson, Ethel Kij and Marge Essick.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Victoria J. Kreisher; a son, William H. Kreisher Jr. and his companion, Christine Stone of Hellertown, Pa.; two daughters, Vicky Edwards and her husband, Kurt of Plumsteadville, Pa. and Marcy Kachnycz and her husband, Rich of Durham, Pa.; a sister, Hazel Keiffer of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Spec. Ryan William Snyder, currently serving in Iraq, Jennifer Elise Kreisher of Sellersville, Pa., Justin Allen Kreisher of Hellertown, Evan Harris Kreisher of Quakertown, Pa., Carly Rose Kachnycz, Cassie Rae Kachnycz and Richard Marc Kachnycz, all of Durham; two great-grandsons, Cody William Snyder and David William Snyder; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be 7 p.m. Wednesday in Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford, where friends may call after 6 p.m.
Memorial services and burial will be at a later date in Pennsylvania.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Milford Memorial Hospital, Second Floor, West Wing, 21 E. Clarke Ave., Milford, DE 19963.
