DOVER - William Emerson Hallett Jr., of Dover, died Monday, May 23, 2011, at Kent General Hospital. He was 83. Mr. Hallett was born Oct. 6, 1927, in Milford, to the late William E. Hallett, Sr. and Pauline Carson Hallett. He served in the United States Army in Occupied Japan. Mr. Hallett owned and operated Blue Hen Liquors for 25 years. He also owned and managed the Hallett Apartments in Dover. In his spare time, Mr. Hallett loved to landscape and garden along with spending time with his family. He was well loved by all who met him and will be sorely missed. Mr. Hallett is survived by his wife of 59 years, Phyllis P. Hallett of Dover; son, William E. Hallett, III and his wife Judi of Hurlock, Md.; daughter, Jill Harris and her husband Martin of Ft. Lauderdale; brother, Pete Hallett and his wife Judy of Ft. Lauderdale; and grandchildren, Adam and Julian Harris, Elizabeth, Brooke and Benjamin Hallett. A Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S.
