William (Bill) Charles Temple Wessell of Sumter, SC went home to be with the Lord on, October 7, 2022.
Bill was born February 22, 1934. He served two years in the United States Army. He was devoted to his church and a dedicated follower of Nascar. He drove in stock car races for several years. His life was lived in Maryland, Delaware, Florida, and South Carolina.
In addition to his parents, William Henry and Elva (Jackson) Wessell, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy; second wife, Lovina; infant son, Mark; brothers, Bobby and Joe Wessell; sisters, Patsy Baxter, Helen Dill and Nancy Noblitt; and a great grandson, Braden Toohey.
He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Carol Andrews Wessell; children, Marcia Wessell and boyfriend Freddy Clarke, William Wessell, Jr. and girlfriend Melanie Johnson, Bonnie and Jeff Yerkes, Marjie and Steve Zarenkiewicz, Ellis and Lisa Blake, Terri and Joe Schrock, Barbara and Helmut Otto, Marie Blake and boyfriend, Jim Morris, David and Sherry Blake, Larry Andrews, Pat Andrews, Marcia and Lee McLoud, Kathy and Greg Farley, Joe and Terri Andrews; and his sister, Delores Dempsy; 35 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A viewing will take place from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, DE. A funeral will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022, at the Greensboro Baptist Church 401 W. Sunset Ave. Greensboro, Md 21639. Burial will be at Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover, DE.
