HOUSTON - William Carlos Austin Jr., age 62, of Houston, left this world, at his home, June 12, 2009, with his beloved family by his side. Unfortunately, he lost his life to breast cancer metastasis. He was born on Aug. 15, 1946, in West Chester, Pa., before relocating to Burrisville, Md. He was the son of the late William "Carl" Austin, Sr. and Pauline (Meter) Austin from Burrisville. He attended North Caroline High School in Denton, Md. In his early years, he worked as a bus boy on Dover Air Force Base and worked for King Cole Ranch in Milton, for many years. For the past 20 years, he owned his own painting and carpentry business. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Shirley Austin of Houston; three daughters and a son, Bonnie S. Felix of Magnolia, Diane M. Davis of Houston, Tara L. Moses of Cheswold, and William C. Austin of Felton; ten loving grandchildren; and two beautiful great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford, where friend may call after noon. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. Our special thanks goes out to Brother Andrew Sellers of Kingdom Life Christian Center in Houston for all the support and caring during our time of need.
