WYOMING - William C. Wallace Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 12, 2015. Bill was born on April 9, 1930, in Centerville, Md. to the late Ella Mae and John Wallace. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jester. Bill was drafted right out of high school to play baseball for Philadelphia Athletics under Connie Mack, later playing for the Delmarva Kenton Baseball League. He loved all things baseball and continued his passion becoming one of the first coaches for the Camden Wyoming Baseball League. At the age of 21, from home plate, he married the love of his life, Bobbie Joe, in Cordele, Georgia. They were blessed with 64 wonderful years together. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army, beginning his career as a Radio Operator. He eventually went on to work at General Foods, retiring as a supervisor after many years of dedicated service. Bill had a great sense of humor, and had a whole-hearted shoulder shrug laugh. He enjoyed bowling, playing golf, and collecting anything, and everything. He especially loved nabbing a great deal from a late night infomercial. Bill was known as the family photographer and could be found at every event capturing special memories. Bill leaves behind his loving wife, Bobbie Joe; three children, Cyndie and her husband Bill Burke, William Jr. and his wife Ann, and Gary and his wife Joy; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; siblings, James Wallace, Janet Edwards, and Betty Richard; and a host of nieces and nephews In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Bill's honor can be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312; or to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society 1311 Mamaroneck Avenue, Suite 310 White Plains, NY 10605. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon, on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, Delaware 19934. Friends may view two hours prior. Burial will follow services at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com
