William C. Andrew, 78

LINCOLN - William C. Andrew of Lincoln passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, at Christiana Care-Christiana Hospital, Newark. He was 78.

Mr. Andrew was born in Old Concord, Pa., son of the late W. Leo and Hazel (Day) Andrew.

He worked for Bell of Pennsylvania for 30 years, retiring in 1982.

Mr. Andrew moved to the area from Bethel Park, Pa., in 1997.

He was a member of the Milford Senior Center and their walking club and the Telephone Pioneers.

Mr. Andrew was a U.S. Army veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Andrew.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Betty T. (Timblin) Andrew; three children, W. Mark Andrew and his wife Carroll of New Braunfels, Texas, Richard D. Andrew and his wife Terri of Katy, Texas, and James A. Andrew and his fiancee Marti of Milford; two sisters, Jane Peters of Clifton, Ill., and Jean Stewart of Washington, Pa.; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several cousins.

Funeral services will be noon Monday in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119. N.W. Front St., Milford, where friends may call two hours prior.

Interment with military honors will be at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro.
