MILFORD - Wilda "Wid" Marie George passed away peacefully on Jan. 13, 2015 with her daughters at her side at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del.. Wid was born in Seward, Pa. in 1919, the youngest of nine children. The passions of her youth were dancing and basketball. On Dec. 7, 1942 she married Jack Leroy George of South Fork, Pa. His military career brought them to Dover, Delaware in 1958. She was a "stay at home mom" for which her daughters are most grateful. She enjoyed fishing with friends in Canada and the Chesapeake, traveling, bowling in leagues at the Milford Lanes, playing poker and most any other card game, crafts, putting jigsaw puzzles together and cooking treats for her neighbors. She enjoyed the fun and laughter that was always present when surrounded by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, four sisters and her husband of 42 years. Wid is survived by her two daughters, Jackie George of Dover and Linda Stohon of Manassas Va. and son-in-law, Tony Stohon. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the spring at Pippin Funeral Home in Wyoming, Del. with date to be determined. Memorial donations may be sent to, Delaware Hospice Center 100 Patriot's Way, Milford, De. 19963 and/or Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley Chapter Head Quarters 399 Market St. Suite 102 Phila. Pa. 19106 The family would like to thank the compassionate and caring staff of Heritage of Dover and the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del..
